Overview
You can permanently delete your clerk& account, and all data associated with it, at any time — directly from within the app. This page explains the exact steps, what is erased, and the limited billing records we are legally required to keep. clerk& is a product of Leeside Labs Limited, an Irish company.
How to delete your account
Account deletion is available in-app and takes effect immediately:
- Open the clerk& app and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Read the confirmation — “This will permanently delete your account, all workspaces you own, and all associated data. This cannot be undone.” — then tap Delete to confirm.
Your account is closed straight away, and all personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
What is deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes the following, within 30 days:
- Your account and profile (name, email, role, practice/firm, country)
- Every workspace you own, and its membership and invitation records
- Audio recordings, in both transcription storage and in-app playback storage
- Transcripts, fee notes, briefs, attendance notes, correspondence, action items, and other matter data
- Uploaded files, attachments, scanned documents, and folder structures
- Product analytics and error-report data associated with your account
What we are required to keep
Billing records only. Subscription and transaction records (a Stripe customer ID and invoice metadata) are retained for 7 years from the date of the transaction, in accordance with Irish Revenue and VAT obligations. This is transaction metadata only — it never includes your dictations, documents, or other matter content. We never store full payment card details on our servers.
Deleting individual data without closing your account
You don’t have to delete your whole account to remove data. Within the app you can delete individual recordings, tasks, documents, and files at any time, and those are erased on the same basis.
If you can’t access the app
If you’re unable to sign in, email us from your account email address at hello@clerkand.com and ask us to delete your account. As this is a GDPR erasure request, we will action it within one month of receipt.
